Where have all the leaflets gone?6.12.00pm BST (GMT +0100) Wed 2nd Jun 2010 At the General Election, each party is allowed to produce a leaflet called the Election Communication. This is then delivered by Royal Mail for free. You can either create an un-addressed leaflet and 1 copy will go to each household, or you can create and addressed leaflet and one copy will go to each named person. This allows you to create different messages to different people. For example, if you want a message to go to women voters, then you can do this by adding addresses of all the female voters in your constituency to a leaflet with message you believe will encourage them to vote for you. In the recent general Election, Banbury Liberal democrats produced a leaflet and addressed it with the names of each person in the household, a sort of in-between option. We did this because we wanted to make sure that each household got our leaflet. In the past, un-addressed leaflets have not proven capable of doing this. We have had reports from people in the constituency that they have not received any leaflet from us and there have been too many to be down to simple changes in the electoral roll which is where we get the addresses from. We need you to tell us whether you received our leaflet or not. It should have arrived during the last 2 to 3 weeks of the campaign, from 21st April to 6th May. We have also written to the local newspapers and the Oxford Times, Bicester Advertiser and Banbury Cake have run this as a story. We have also recorded an interview with Banbury Sound Radio. You can email us on info@banbury-libedems.org.uk or write to me, Neil Walton, at Banbury Lib Dems, 27 Park End Street, Oxford, OX1 1HU As we get your responses we will be able to narrow down where the problems existed. It could be the Royal Mail, it could be the printers but until we know where we are missing leaflets, we will just not know.
